In the surf

First striped bass caught surf fishing in RI. Been surfing fishing a few times and never caught anything until now.  I was using a huge rapala crank bait. Also foul hooked a skate! I had my fly rod out there too, but it was just to windy.  I would have needed a 9-10 weight to over come the conditions. This striper was a baby but still put up a night fight in the surf.

Gleneida 4..26.13

I got out and trolled gleneida today for 4 hours.  Not much luck but ended my reservoir shunk.  Picked up this laker 20 feet down.  Also saw two bald eagles, a fox and a group of deer.  Bald eagle sitting in the tree in the pics below. The laker had all it's fins....could have been a native laker born in gleneida.

Gleneida December Trolling

I got out and trolled, fly fishing and casted cranks on gleneida today. I had a nice couple of hours out there, rowed 3.3 miles (really a little more but my cell died). I had a pig brown come chasing my lucky craft pointer to the boat, looked to be about 20-21", could of went 4 to 5 pounds. I dont know how it didn't get hooked, it hit my lure, saw the whole thing right next to my boat. It was def very cool to see such a beautiful fish acting like a shark!

I had 3 hits trolling, 2 got off (one felt like a pig, 3 colors down) then i decided to go deep (8 colors) and picked up this nice 5 pound laker. This laker broke my clicking thing on my reel. As i was reeling it in, the click thing fell off, lol. Great looking laker, awesome shoulders on this one. Released it to become a trophy one day.

Lake Gleneida

Got out and trolled lake gleneida for a quick 2.5 hours.  Had one nice hit but it got off.  I did manage to land these two well fed stockies.  One was 14" and the other was 12".  Released to become really fat for next season.
